Theres something awkward and embarrassing about crawling back to my blog after months of abscence.
The really embarrassing part is what brought me back.
Dont laugh.
Cody and I are going to Cirque du Soleil - Alegria on friday night and I've been listening to the soundtrack to get stoked and its so beautiful that its driven me to tears and given me inspiration to write.
This summer has been a wild time. We've bounced from party to play date and back again. 90's night, tattoo parties, roadtrips and car trouble. Its all played itself into the funnest, craziest nights and laziest days and bollywood photo shoots.
Its been hard work too, late nights and early mornings. Cody's been putting in time at the Tattoo Zoo and its paying off in dividends. Our initial struggle to settle into the city has all but faded and we're fully entrenched in a lifestyle sometimes too exciting for even us.
All that excitement leads to some much needed downtime. Downtime imposed on us by what we're fondly calling 'Fever Doom Death". The worst cold since the onset on last years lung infection.
Seriously, this shits so contagious you better wash your hands after reading this or you'll be next.
It makes itself known with a hideous headache, quickly morphing into dry, hard fever and body aches. You cant breathe, you cant eat, sleep is completely out of the question. You just exist, exhausted and in pain, for a couple days and then you sweat and cough and blow your nose for a couple more.
I'm feeling a bit better, Co is still a bit down with the silly thing.
This weekend is shaping up to be the best weekend of the summer, the last weekend of the summer for that matter. Friday night is, of course, Cirque. I'm dying with excitement and trepidation. We're double-dating with Sarah, vegan goddess and Gerry, tatt-king Kramer. No better couple to double date with then them.
Saturday is Beerfest! We're going as a crew, with the Tattoo Zoo. Basically I get to spend all day drinking incredible beer with all my favorite people! how cool is that... Last but not least, I'm doing my good deed for the year and walking with some co-workers at the Childrens Miracle Network fundraiser. Blast.
This is getting long winded. I'm just so wrapped up in Alegria I cant seem to stop myself. I`m a little worried about friday night now. If 4 minutes of song puts me in tears, how am i going to handle 3 hours of visual and musical stimulation!
its going to be a soggy show...
Anything to make you smile
We are the ever-living ghost of what once was
