Evening.

FYI I did wear shorts other day. I made a mop out of my hair, threw Cody's flannel over a pair of sailor shorts. Slip on a pair of over-sized Jackie O's and we were off!

It felt so deliciously summery. I was having heat flashbacks to last summer, the first summer I've ever slept naked, the summer Co and I moved in together. It was the summer of snorkels and underwater rock climbing.

Last summer was the best of my life.

And now onward and upward! The wedding has crept back into my head again. It had ejected itself after the bridal convention. To be honest, that whole ordeal horrified and alarmed me.

Are brides supposed to be like that? If so, I don't have the necessary elbow power to get what I want. I came away with a bruised side and a nervous heart.

But now I've been thinking about it again, and I'm much more relaxed. We've made some solid decisions and things are falling into place. The entire ceremony and reception will all be held on my grandparents ranch. They have a beautiful property, with a lake, vast fields, all overlooking a small valley leading up to the mountains.

An august wedding, set in my childhood home. Its going to be perfect. Our wedding party is wearing dark gray and white. The girls in pencil skirts and tank blouses, the boys in casual, hip suits. Cody waiting for me at the end of the aisle. I want to be barefoot, to feel the grass. Tracy, Rudi's mom is learning one of my favorite songs on flute to play for me. Its going to be so beautiful.

The reception will be in the orchard, all the trees glowing with little lights and paper lanterns. A barbecue style dinner under a gauzy white tent, close friends and family, live music from so many of our talented friends. We just want everyone to feel so welcome and happy and to enjoy every second of the day.

I feel so calm now, as opposed to earlier. Stress central.

Is there any new brides out there that have information or tips for me?

i know i could definitely use the help.
